The One With The Wedding Forum

As our wedding plans gradually pick up, I find myself spending more and more time on (what seems to be) Ireland's leading wedding forum. And I have to say that at this stage, I'm just prepared to throw in the towel and never use it again. I always disliked women; I really did. I know it sounds strange, coming from a woman, but I really did meet so few women in my life that I could relate to. Instead almost all I seem to come across is women who are manipulative, complaining, bitching and you name it.




I've been posting on several boards in that forum in several different subjects, and most of what I got back was abuse. Why? Because I was outspoken and said what was on my mind instead of what people wanted to hear. I got abuse for idiotic things like telling people that giving birth is painful and having a baby can be a hard job. The amount of complaints and offenses was phenomenal.




Then there is the relationship section, in a wedding forum, where women go to bitch and moan about their men. Of course there are some women there with genuine problems, but one quick look at the replies and you find that generally, all men are bastards.




I actually find it exhausting and I don't know why I keep coming back. It started actually because I had some advice to give, especially in the children and babies section, but even that got bitched when people disagreed with me. I keep telling myself that I should listen to my own advice and ignore, but I still end up spending time there, reading these posts, the absurdity of which is often unbelievable.




I can't help but asking, what the hell is wrong with women? Why do they always find something to moan about? Like my fiancé said, women love to complain and Irish women love to complain about everything… and I could not agree more with that statement. In this country you have to smile and be politically correct or you're fucked; literally. There's no room for disagreements and debates, no room for opinions, not among women, as it seems anyway.




I really need to stop going there… my wedding plans wouldn't require much more from that forum anyway and my nerves are already as strained as they can be.
